MEMBINA Community Youth Help Children Through Project Dian

As Hari Raya approached, more than 30 youth volunteers from a community group took to the ground to help 50 underprivileged children shop for festive clothes through Project Dian, held at City Plaza on Sunday.
With the support of M3@Bedok and M3@Jalan Besar, the event went beyond providing financial aid, it also offered guidance and mentorship to the children involved.

Empowering At-Risk Youth Through MEMBINA Community
MEMBINA Community, supports youth-at-risk aged 13 to 25 through holistic programmes that aim to enhance their academic performance, socio-emotional skills, and self-efficacy, enabling them to contribute positively to society.
Many of the youth volunteers themselves come from rental flat backgrounds, making the experience even more meaningful and relatable.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Givers
Dr Maliki also expressed his pride in seeing the spirit of youth volunteerism, highlighting that the volunteers not only helped the children buy new clothes but also set a positive example for them.
“We hope the bonds formed through this initiative will encourage more youth to continue contributing to society and inspire these children to grow up as caring and compassionate citizens,” he added.
MEMBINA also received corporate volunteer support from Changi General Hospital (CGH), whose staff joined in as part of Project Dian.
According to Dr Maliki, such efforts reflect the kampung spirit of mutual help among Singaporeans in assisting those in need.
He expressed hope that this spirit of giving would continue to flourish among the youth not only during festive seasons but throughout the year.
